    Merry Christmas!!

It's been an interesting few days to say the least.  If you think about it, please pray for my dear friend Kelli's fiance, Jason.  He was involved in a car accident Thursday night and is in the hospital with some pretty serious injuries.  He has a fractured neck and is having surgery this morning for that.  He also did some damage to his back and has cuts and bruises on his hand and face.  As of right now, Jason is saying he'll probably have to wear a halo for three months which won't be any fun at all!  Prayers for him and his family would be greatly appreciated...especially over the holidays.
Chris and I are looking forward to spending a lot of quality time with our families over the next few days.  Thankfully, Chris' days off fell on the 24th, 25th and 26th!!
    Merry Christmas to you all!!

19 days until the big day!!

  • Finally...

At the request of my beautiful friend Jenn...I will update my blog! :)  Chris and I have talked about creating a new blog, but we haven't had a chance to do so yet...who knew planning a wedding would be so time consuming!
Well, the past 6 months or so have been absolutely wild with planning a wedding, student teaching, and a couple of family surgeries.
I completed my Elementary Education degree last Thursday so I am now an official college graduate!  I did my student teaching in 4th grade at an elementary school in Mishawaka.  I was blessed to have a class of 30 kids who definitely kept me on my toes!  I really enjoyed working with them and watching them mature and learn over the course of 4 months.  It was encouraging to know that they really were mastering the concepts I was trying to teach them!  I look forward to hopefully landing a teaching position in the fall...I must admit I am a little worried!
Chris and I will be married in 24 days...I am so excited!  We are going to Negril, Jamaica for our honeymoon; I am so excited for some sunshine and some much needed rest and relaxation!  I still have boat loads of things to accomplish before the wedding day...all of those details I put off while wrapping up my student teaching!
Over the past 2.5 months we have had numerous things happen in my family.  My step-dad got overly excited while playing his guitar at worship team practice and while jumping up and down landed on his knee wrong and ended up having to have knee surgery.  He's still a little sore, but doing very well!  My sister had open heart surgery in the middle of November to replace a valve that wasn't working properly.  She's doing very well which is a huge answer to prayer!

    I think that's enough for now...back to work! :)

  • It's about time...

It's about time I updated this thing I suppose.  There have been a lot of things happening in my life over the past few months.  The biggest of them being...I'm engaged!  Chris and I are getting married in January and I am SO EXCITED!!

I finished up my last semester of classes at Grace; I student teach in the fall and graduate in December!!  I will be student teaching in 4th grade at an elementary school in Mishawaka.
I have a new neice and she is precious!  Kayla Ann Porter was born on May 11.  Oh does she have a head of hair!  I have never seen a child born with so much hair!  I am really enjoying spending time with her and her big brother!

  • Argentina...

Hi All...I'm leaving on Friday for Buenos Aires, Argentina to visit my friend Kelly.  I'll be gone from March 2-11.  Prayers would be MUCH APPRECIATED!  I'm quite nervous about traveling; you would think after as much as I've traveled I would be used to it.  However, before every trip it seems the nerves kick into high gear!  I am excited to spend the week with Kelly and Jenn, but I know I will miss Chris like CRAZY!

In other news...Chris and I went to see John Mayer in concert last week and had a blast.  A great concert and great company...it doesn't get much better than that :)  The day I return from Argentina we are going to the Mercy Me concert and I'm so excited about that one!
I am going to have a new neice in May and I can't wait!  My sister asked me to help her get the nursery ready and I can't wait to tackle that project with her.

I am truly blessed with an amazing family, great friends, and the greatest boyfriend in the entire world!  I give all of the glory to God for the many undeserved blessings He gives me!

    2007...

So far, it's been a great year...granted we are only 23 days into the new year, but this year started off great and I'm convinced it's going to be one great year!
I rang in the new year with someone who has become a very important part of my life, and a couple other friends as well.  Yes, that's right, there's someone special in my life and I think he's pretty great to say the least!  Chris is definitely a huge blessing and I am thankful to have him in my life.  God's timing is perfect!  If you want to know more, you can ask me :)
What else, classes are going well so far.   I  definitely have a FULL semester of classes, working  in Goshen very part time, and teaching  math at the elementary school.  Teaching is going very well so far...I have a great group of 13 kids who keep me on my toes, but are a joy to work with.  I will be happy when this semester is over and all I have left is student teaching!!!

**Hello to my dear friend Kelly in Argentina...I'm praying for you girly and I'm so excited to see you in just over a month!
